IN THE HEART OF ITALY,
AN INTERNATIONAL PROJECT.

Castelnoha wines come to life and find their roots in Umbria, in the green heart of central Italy, a region full of treasures and history. In these places where nature can give great emotions lies the Castelnoha Company, with its vineyards and its Winery.

The estate covers 75 hectares, mainly exposed to south / south-west between 200-250 meters above sea level, where the red grape varieties are more expressed in the clayey-calcareous soils, while the other plots, with medium-impact texture and with presence of skeleton, favor the cultivation of white grapes.

Here, just along the hills and farms that surround the structure, can be found the traditional vines like Grechetto, Sangiovese and Malvasia.

Thanks to a happy intuition and after a careful and chemical analysis of the soil, also the best-known and international red grape varieties have found a place, such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and also whites, such as Chardonnay, Traminer and Crossing Manzoni. Not simply implanted, but highly reinterpreted in a different territory capable of giving new characteristics.

An interpretation of internationality, which finds an identity different from the usual one and which feeds on the local and timeless landscape of the Umbrian hills.

To the Umbrian vineyards were added over time those of Lazio (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon,Syrah, Malvasia e Bellone) that are located along the Appia Antica in Rome, and those of Abruzzo (Montepulciano, Pecorino, Trebbiano, Passerina).

The latter date back to the second half of the 800, forerunners of the tradition that has been fed with the love of wine over the centuries.

Today every vineyard is lived in a sustainable way in its essence and expressiveness, with a lot of study, scientific research, new ideas and an infinite dose of passion.
